Here’s the Rundown for the 2021 Steam Awards

Updated: Jan 17, 2022

Introduction

This year’s Steam Awards and their nominees have been announced. Voters have been deliberating whether or not the winners deserved their title, or if they’d rather have a different nominee receive the award.

Others were hoping for a game entirely unlisted from this year’s roster to win the final vote. We'll update you on the winners down below once they're officially announced.

Players cast their votes starting on December 22nd and ending on January 3rd. Audiences can vote here or through their Steam client.

This Year's Lineup

The categories include:

  • VR Game of the Year

  • Labor Of Love, Better With Friends

  • Outstanding Visual Style

  • Most Innovative Gameplay

  • Best Game You Suck At

  • Best Soundtrack

  • Outstanding Story-Rich Game

  • Sit Back and Relax

  • Game of the Year

These interesting titles serve to give a number of outstanding and unique games a chance in the spotlight. But some nominated games were well-known and more likely to make the list, such as Guilty Gear Strive, and Cyberpunk 2077.

Some lesser-known games made it alongside this year’s more iconic and viral successes. These include titles like Twelve Minutes by Luis Antonio and Annapurna Interactive and Unpacking by Witch Beam and Humble Games.
